Gravity and the aging process take their toll on the skin, resulting in the formation of facial lines and skin sagging. The good news is there is now an effective treatment to fight those telltale signs of aging without discomfort or downtime. Board-certified plastic surgeon Geoffrey Leber, MD offers a revolutionary skin tightening treatment called ReFirme that has shown to produce stellar results on the skin without more invasive surgical procedures.
ReFirme uses elos technology, which combines bi-polar radiofrequency and light energy to produce the best possible results on the skin. Energy penetrates the outer layer of dermis, stimulating the body to produce more collagen underneath the skin’s surface. Collagen supports the underlying skin structure, for a smoother, more youthful appearance.
Who is it for?
Patients who are unhappy with the overall appearance of their skin may be good candidates for ReFirme Skin Tightening. The procedure offers a myriad of benefits, including:
- Minimizes the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles
- Tightens and firms skin
- Consistency in skin texture and tone
- Improvement in skin laxity
- Eliminates the look of “bags” under the eyes
ReFirme Skin Tightening is considered safe and effective for nearly all skin types and tones. If you are seeking a more immediate and/or powerful improvement, we encourage you to learn about a facelift or eyelid surgery during a consultation.
How does it work?
Patients may be given numbing cream prior to treatment to maximize comfort. They will also receive goggles to protect the eyes from the light energy. A conductive gel will be applied to the skin, which the handheld device runs over as it delivers energy into the lower levels of the skin. The procedure may take up to an hour for a full facial rejuvenation, less if a smaller area is treated.
What about results?
Patients may experience some skin redness after the procedure, similar to a sunburn. Makeup can be used immediately after treatment and patients may return to work and regular activities right away. Results appear over time, as collagen production increases to support the underlying skin structure.
Most patients will require a series of ReFirme treatment sessions to achieve desired results. The specific number will depend on the patient and the current condition of the skin. Number of treatment sessions will be discussed at your initial appointment.
